Twenty years ago, Stormwind’s park was a beautiful place. Usually full of visiting Night Elves, but that didn’t matter. It was a calm, serene place. He felt at ease, there. He recalled his childhood— it was where he and his father would watch clouds, play catch with a leather ball… before the war. Before he had been thrust into the cold, hard reality of a world at war.

He wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps, ever since those days in the park.

The park…

It was where he had fallen asleep, and been late for training that one day when the weather was just right. It was where he found love, kissing by the glow of the Moonwell.

His expression turned sour underneath that heavy helm, and he clenched his teeth as he looked out from the Mage Quarter’s stone balcony.

He was powerless to stop the tears that would stream down his battle-scarred face.

All those precious memories… the one place that he had truly felt comfort from the war-torn world.

All in ruin.

So these drawings were for my concept design class.

For the last 3 weeks we have been studying the Blizzard art style used in World of Warcraft. After creating a style guide and thoroughly sketching out ideas for different “warcarfty” instruments, I came up with a design I will be happy to take to finish and color.
