Anyway if Domination only showed up on Azeroth with the Lich King and is used only in reference to maw creations that means that Darion was most likely the first proper mortal to harness it in such a massive way other than maybe Kel’thuzad and that’s wild for like a forgotten side character lmao.

@fairshaw the fact that warcraft lore has retconned darion into like, the first person who isn’t the jailer/mawsworn (which is where i’d but kel’thuzad bc he was ostensibly knowingly working for him/learning from him) to master ‘domination’ magic, but also this fact has zero bearing on the plot other than like One (1) singular quest in the intro to the expansion and a legendary questchain back in wrath is honestly 100% the funniest thing ever

darion couldve made the maw his bitch by now but instead he’s circling oribos like a dog with cabin fever because the writing team didnt realize what they actually wrote

@fairshaw i will be honest there was about a week long period, from when i left darion behind in the maw to when i finally had the time to go back and get him, where i expected to find him running around the maw making trouble and breaking shit and being all ‘i’m not trapped in here with you, you’re trapped in here with me’…and then i got to the maw and found him just like, sitting in a cage, and remembered that this is a blizzard game and i was Foolish to think that darion’s years long progression into a terrifying undying master of necromancy and death magic would pay off in any other way than hollering about his father and then standing in a corner to lurk while other people do stuff about things he’s an expert on
