Like, for real. If you don’t enjoy Ashran as a zone, don’t. But don’t get your panties in a bundle because Blizzard is trying to fix it for the people who DO legitimately want to enjoy it. They will fix the imbalance too, if you guys make suggestions POLITELY.
There’s actually a very simple reason that people are complaining:
200 conquest adds up quick.
Then literally all they would have to do is yolo RBG to 1800.
That raises the cap past the Ashran bonus, takes like a week, and the 3 rbg wins a week can get you random conquest gear and look! Now you’re more geared than people who DID the Ashran bonus.
People that yolo up to 1800 and do Ashran now have both, and we’re back at we started.
As you’ve probably witnessed, on many servers Ashran had digressed into a situation where the two factions were avoiding any confrontation. One faction would complete the outer events while the other faction would kill the faction leader. This isn’t ideal, as the Horde and Alliance should be fighting more regularly in Ashran.
Recently, we made changes to the frequency of events and the time between battles in the middle road. After a boss is killed, the center lane will take 30 minutes to reset. We hope this encourages the team that just won the middle lane to venture off into the rest of the zone for a time before the fight begins anew. Furthermore, we hope that faction’s presence in the outer events will encourage the other faction to fight in the center lane a bit more, since winning the events is no longer a given.
We’ll continue to consider your constructive Ashran feedback and appreciate those of you providing it.
Huh I wonder why that is. I doubt it could be because nobody actually wants to participate in Ashran, and everyone is there just because its required to get 200 points worth of conquest.
Must be something else.
Ha ha so basically any server with an unbalanced horde/alliance ratio will have the stronger faction dominating all aspects of the island instead of giving the weaker still a chance to get conquest
Ah man that’s so rad.
Why are you all complaining.

liamel – dk who lost his daughter in the third war – was once a blood knight of some renown, now doomed to a life of angsty, broody undeath
kianei – noob rogue who skipped out on a betrothal to avoid living a merchants life with a woman he hated – very contemplative but arrogant – shovels bloodthistle spiked candy and assorted sweets into his face to deal w/ addiction
If healers have it bad, so do tanks. Tanks and Heals, poor buggers.
I’ve borne witness to ALL of these and more, and it all drives me UP THE WALL.
ALL OF THEM. ARGH.
People who don’t watch their fucking threat.
People who pull mobs for you then get OMIGOSH surprised when they DIE TO THE MOB – what did they expect? flowers and a fucking massage!?
IDIOTS WHO DON’T UNDERSTAND CLEAVE MECHANICS/Healers who stand in melee (WHAT THE FUCK GUYS)/HITBOX MECHANICS.
Tanks that go AFK as soon as you pull (aka offtanks, leaving you to manfully shoulder the burden alone – which causes massive HP drops, which causes healers to cry.)
Anyone with a minion who pulls other mobs. DISMISS YOUR MINION BEFORE YOU JUMP OFF SOMETHING, YOU STUPID LITTLE SHITSTAIN.
Just tanking in general. ARGH HEADACHE. No wonder I turned to drinking when raiding…
I don’t think I’ve seen a tank have a problem with threat generation since…
I mean I only started raiding in Wrath and it was never an issue.
Threat generation stopped mattering the same time Omen did.
I would be shocked if I could pull threat off of someone at this point. There would have to be a serious gear disparity between us.
I agree, since Wrath the threat generation has improved dramatically, but this isn’t a specifically ‘after a certain point’ list as I drew some of my frustrations from when I was raiding in vanilla and BC, and back then you had to keep an eye on what you were doing. Of course that was also when Paladins had to use spell enchants to boost their threat gen. Since Wrath I’ve only tanked on a DK (Goodbye Captain America wannabes!) and the threat gen difference is massive (and welcome) if coming with the whole ‘Which spec is a tank spec’ of WotLK (I tanked as unholy for a while, that was fun before it became Frost) and then it all took a sudden uturn towards Blood which is where we are currently.
That said I did see my friend with a fantastic bug when she was doing WoD, she wasn’t generating threat (I was generating more than she was as a Warlock and lemme tell you, that made me VERY nervous!) and it didn’t get fixed until WoW was down and hotfixed on the third or fourth day of it going down faster than a bad joke at a comedy club.
The gear disparity was that large at the end of the last expac; the minimum item level to do SoO LFR was 496, and people in Heroic Warforged gear could reach 588. The item level difference there is larger than everything in Wrath between Normal Halls of Lightning and Icecrown Citadel 25H.
This expac isn’t looking too much better. Now there’s 50 item levels between LFR Highmaul and Mythic Blackrock Foundry.
