President Obama’s “before and after” reaction to the Supreme Court ruling.

President Obama is a Hypocrite In 2008, he said:  "I believe marriage is between a man and a woman. I am not in favor of gay marriage.“

On Wednesday, by contrast, he said:  "I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married.”

This just in: people aren’t allowed to change their minds about same-sex marriage.

This just in: Tumblr still thinks that an opinion you once had is set in stone and that you’re not allowed to change it as you grow and change as a person; also, if you ever say something contrary to your old opinion, you’re a flip-flopper and liar.

Here’s some reality for the idiots who agree with @lanealkarate: Opinions change with time, so does behavior. New information, new social groups, new experiences, and sometimes just plain old maturity tend to cause it. It doesn’t make someone a “hypocrite” or a “flip-flopper”. Shit, if I still had the same opinions I had when I was 15, or even 25, I’d be a pretty lousy person.

The logic in the base assumption “President Obama is a hypocrite and is changing his opinion to curry favor with voters” is provably wrong anyway: He’s served his two terms as president, and can’t run again, so there’s no reason to pander to voters.

i see all these posts around here that are like “date someone who…” and all that’s fine and good but like i feel like they focus on cutesy stuff and leave some really important stuff out. so like yes, date someone who you can watch netflix with and pet dogs with and make waffles with but also

  • date someone who will call you out on your shit
  • date someone who thinks the sun shines out of your ass, but also knows you’re not perfect and will offer the support you need to change and grow
  • date someone who doesn’t passively accept your flaws, but recognizes them and helps you deal with them
  • date someone who you can disagree with but still love and care for all the same
  • date someone who can understand where you’re coming from and help you through your rough times
  • date someone who won’t enable your negative, self-destructive habits and tendencies
  • date someone who doesn’t think “you’re perfect don’t ever change” but rather “i love you and will help and support you in whatever changes you need to make”
  • date someone who sees you not as a perfect lover but as a human being and who wants to be with you even though they can see all your faults

basically date someone who’s going to be with you, not just worship you. and more importantly, be this person for your SO. do not put them on a pedestal and call it love.

i love the White House being covered in rainbow lighting because it looks like a conservative fever dream of what would happen if The Gays accomplished their horrible, horrible designs. a black president sittin in The Gay House

giancarlovolpe: Hey kids!  If you’re a filmmaker, animator, or storyboard artist and you don’t know what screen direction is, you might want to read this. For the record, there are always exceptions to the rule in filmmaking, which is why I pointed out 3 examples here.

I’ve also found that comic books tend to NOT take screen direction as seriously as film does, but I’m still on the fence if this is wise or not.  My favorite comics pay close attention to screen direction so as to not confuse the reader.

Good luck!
