In an upcoming patch, we’ll be adding a feature that allows you to act as a mercenary for the opposite faction in PvP. Whenever your faction is experiencing a long wait time to get into Ashran or unrated Battlegrounds, agents of the enemy faction will appear in your base in Ashran (Stormshield for the Alliance, Warspear for the Horde). These agents will allow you to enter Ashran or Battlegrounds disguised as an enemy player, and actually fight as the opposite faction.
This is quite possibly the most hilarious response to the great A-side migration they could have possibly come up with. I have no arguments against this, honestly, but I’m still laughing my butt off at the decision because they’d not have needed this if they hadn’t borked racials so bad.

Blizzard: Idk why PVPers will only play alliance it can’t possibly be EMFH because we fixed it by never touching it! /destroys faction boundaries to solve problem because apparently EMFH is the center of the goddamn universe

LIKE… ON ONE HAND IT’S COOL THAT I CAN KILL HORDE PLAYERS AGAIN WITHOUT ACTUALLY PLAYING ALLIANCE. On the other hand Blizzard could just, you know, FIX THE 1 FUCKING RACIAL.
Or do what every other game does and give EVERY RACE the same baseline trinket… Give humans something else, and now Blizzard has room to make on-use/passive trinkets interesting again. EASY.
BUT NAW LET’S JUST.. ERASE FACTIONS TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM.. . SURE OK…
like, if they hadn’t made such a big deal in the past about keeping the factions AT WAR (”we wanna keep the WAR in Warcraft!” – remember that’s why we didn’t get Karabor and Bladespire? because they wanted the factions close and fighting in Ashran?) then I wouldn’t be so bothered but like.. they’re literally breaking down one of the pillars of this game BECAUSE OF A RACIAL
Factions don’t fucking matter in raids and dungeons, by all means bring that tech to PVE, but WoW PVP is kinda built on the faction war
This is great because its only effect is going to be reducing queue times in random BGs and in Ashran. Arenas and RBGs already have a better implementation of this system! (AKA: one that isn’t probably going to turn me into a male Draenei)
It doesn’t even solve the actual balance problem because now there’s no reason to faction change back since you get the OP racial and the really short queue times as alliance.
