I just want everyone to know what in about to say is a condemnation of both Biden and our whole governmental system:

Biden could not legally try to bypass Congress on issues like student loans, the climate, or social issues. The administration tried an executive action to bypass Congress with student loans and the conservative majority Supreme Count struck it down. Some of the major covid restrictions and aid were through executive order.

Being able to bypass Congress on matters of the military or arms sales has been legal precedent for decades. It’s perfectly acceptable, legal, expected, and frankly encouraged at this point.

It’s not just a Biden thing, even though he’s awful for even doing it, it’s that our system is fully built on this. He’s awful for gleefully participating in a genocide, but he’s not uniquely awful. It’s a systemic issue that even allows and empowers this kind of behavior.

So yeah this goes back to at LEAST the Iran-Contra affair (under Republican present Ronald Regan) where everyone found guilty was then pardoned by President George H. W. Bush, you know, the guy who was Vice President during the Iran-Contra affair.
