To add context: the ADS-B data that Elon is whining about is transmitted from the plane itself to anyone within line of sight, specifically for the purposes of tracking the plane.
All you need to do to see every plane around you is have a $20 RTL-SDR receiver. Once I even used it to track the specific flight I was on– setting up the WLAN on the plane was harder than using dump1090 to do this.
All Elon needs to do to make it so people can’t track him with ADS-B data is not fly on the private jet he owns. But that solution involves not flaunting his massive wealth so it’s obviously a bad one.
