« I had the epiphany that most of Columbo’s episodes are what happens when a mediocre 70’s soap opera still in the first few seasons suddenly veers into *bum-bum-buuuuum* MURDER and dovetails into a Columbo episode. That’d explain why there’s so much good interpersonal dynamics, set design, and the reoccurring stable of actors.That also kinda makes me wonder if, in this scenario, Columbo is the Reaper of meh-tier soap operas, giving them a chance to play a game for their continued run and if they lose, their main character is arrested but never actually shown to be punished, relegating them to a Purgatory of unresolved narrative closure.ObRequest: Columbo Reaper fanart? “Oh, one last thing…” »
