This took me a while to work through the many possible combinations of meaning but my read is that it’s saying the right wing in the US are self deceiving and hypocritical.

The don’t tread on me snake (symbol of neo Confederates) is asking if the boot is free real estate. In fact, inside a boot is exactly where you will get tread on. Then there’s the connotation of “bootlicker.” Reactionaries stake out their cultural place by conforming to structures of power and accepting/enforcing the largest scale forms of social control, while loudly proclaiming that they are rebelling and identifying recently formed and less stable structures of progressivism as the oppressor.

I could be wrong if that’s a specific boot with additional meaning. This analysis is also am example of how people will tend to see things in ways they agree with.

That is the Hottest Goddamn Take I have ever seen that managed to be so completely and utterly incorrect.

But this is absolutely correct. Historical references were used in order to support evidence, and the two memes provided were both referenced correctly in the above explanation. As a bonus, an additional meme was provided to further show evidence of their conclusion.

Broke: “There’s a snake in my boot!”

Woke: “the right wing in the US are self deceiving and hypocritical.”

Alright, just because I have nothing better to do while I AFK my game, I’ll bite.

If you want to treat this as serious, and use evidence to back up the claim, it’s still wrong, because that’s not No Step Snek (AKA the Don’t Tread On Me snake). The Neo-Confederate symbol is, as it would so happen, this:

And as you can see, it’s an entirely different snake. Since the whole point here is to go by symbology, you can’t substitute one snake for another. The exception would be if you were to create a parody of the snake (such as this:)

Wherein the purpose is to use a different snake with the same layout of the original symbol, but in a mocking manner rather than a serious one. In order for their interpretation to be correct, the meme would need to look like this:

I won’t argue their point, because I happen to agree, but the fact remains that from a purely symbological standpoint, their interpretation was, while interesting, incorrect.
