Through a couple of Tumblr related dreams last night I realized something. I’ve had a blog on this website for…. eight years? Since 2009. Throughout that time I have followed 1,100+ people. My main blog has maybe 300 followers but my reptile blog has over 5,000 now (fuckyeahherpetology). I also run the green-felflame blog as my WoW blog, for context, and have characters on WrA.
What I realized is that I haven’t ever really reached out to anyone on Tumblr. I mostly have this set of people I follow that I adore but have never or scarcely spoken to. It made me a little sad to think of the one-sided connections so I thought I’d write down all of the blogs I’ve appreciated the most (but that are not mutuals or I’m friends with, really). This isn’t a popularity list, and my best friends aren’t on here. That’s not the point of this. But this is by no means an obligation to talk to me, RP with me, or anything of the sort – I just want to show my appreciation where it’s due.
I’m going to split these into two categories. The first group are more general/nature/biology related blogs that I love. The second group is WoW/artists/RPers whom I’ve loved the characters of dearly and wish I could someday RP with them. You’re all my favorite blogs, that’s all I want you to know. <3

General/Nature
@typhlonectes (previously @rhamphotheca) – One of my favorite bloggers of all time and he helped promote @fuckyeahherpetology just once before his blog was sniped and got me an influx of followers. I’ll always be grateful, but also Paxon is an overall A+ biologist & naturalist.
@dendroica – Another early follow and one of my favorite bird and nature blogs. I’m always happy to see and reblog their posts.
@komainucalamity – Great content blog that always reminded me of my own tastes and one of the first people I followed back in the day, if I remember right.
@hauntedhallways – Also one of my bf’s favorites, it’s hard to scroll through without reblogging at least 5 aesthetics. They’re all so spooky, adult, and surreal.
@squaliformes – Another really darn good biology-esq blog from someone who seems like a pretty cool person to me.
@thatsthat24 – You’re so positive! I normally don’t follow a lot of viners/youtubers but you’re such a sweet and bright light in the darkness that tumblr can be sometimes.
@exotic-venom– I love the informative venomous posts a lot and often reblog them to fyherp to give them a few more notes.
@theexoticvet – Real advice from someone who isn’t afraid to give it, I really appreciate your blog and all that you do. You’re a great vet and aren’t afraid to tell people the hard truths.
@congenitaldisease – Really fascinating and informative posts (though often disturbing for the faint of heart), I really enjoy reading through your writing.
@alydotl– Great aesthetics that match my own, I often find myself reblogging your stuff!
@scientificillustration – I’m a bit of a sci illustration nerd and this blog encompasses some amazing works and I’ve always been a fan.
@lsleofskye – (Omg that’s an L not an I) One of my favorite nature aesthetic blogs. Always some really nice photography posted in here.
@iguanamouth – Cool art and cartoons with a little bit of science. Perfect.
@kaijutegu – Good mix of science and captivity posts (and I love tegus). You also seem like a really chill and down-to-earth person.
@illuminaudo – Another fantastic aesthetic blog with great taste.
@strigiforma – A really awesome science blog with a focus on great birds and a mix of other cool sciencey things and art!
@cyan-biologist – More great science from a grad student that’s a good balance of less-aesthetic organisms that I really appreciate seeing more often.
