First of all, Happy International Women’s Day. This is the last post I will make on this but I wanted to share my thoughts.

I’ve heard various quotes from people, quotes like:

“It’s International Men’s Day everyday”

It really isn’t. An entire demographic doesn’t have a glorious celebratory day everyday because of their gender. May I remind you that:

97% of combat deaths are men

93% of Industrial Deaths/Accidents are men

80% of suicides are men

76% homicide victims are men

University of York cancels International Men’s Day because of extremists right before a boy commits suicide

“Men asking for International Men’s Day is why we need International Women’s Day”

Stop. The mainstream media doesn’t put enough focus on International Men’s Day as well as women’s. Google Doodle for example:

If a man asks you when is International Men’s Day, then you tell him November 19th. That’s it. You do not ridicule him for it.

International Men’s Day is for men who have endured hardships in everyday life. Men of a variety of races including gay and trans-men, face their own hardships every single day.

THIS POST IS NOT TAKING AWAY FROM INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY. It’s aimed at those who think ridiculing men’s day will get them anywhere. Either we celebrate both days, or none at all, otherwise where is the equality?

I’m reblogging this to avoid responding to any similar type of comments like the anon we had previousy. – Horse

well, happy international men’s day to all my man followers!
