BAWW thank you! :3c
I dont really have any tips because I dont know what I’m doing most of the time lol — I just put down some colors I have in mind and play with the sliders in photoshop until I end up with something I’m OK with lol.
For the fire hawk thing it was SUPPOSED to be a shadow puppet kinda deal where all the figures are just black silhouettes against color backgrounds, but I had to paint the fire aaaaand I started abusing the dry brushes and opacity lol.
Initially I took colors from my screenshots of the actual zone:
The first picture I did was the Firelands background, and that kinda set the tone for rest of them
But as I made more pictures they started getting more and more pink/red so I just went with it lol. Fire, heat, bright — that’s all I was thinking of.
I didn’t wanna use cooler colors anywhere cuz I was TRYING to limit the color palette to reds/yellows but it started happening a little bit anyway lol.
Once I finished the last one I put all of them on one document and adjusted colors and saturation and levels and stuff so they were all a little more cohesive:
Besides that I don’t have any tricks, I just spend a lot of time being indecisive about colors lol
