He can sing too!? Our lord and orcior of Orckind can do many things.

Our Metzen, which art in Irvine, CA
Canon be thy Words.
Thy Warsong come.
Thy will be done in game,
As it is at Blizzard.
Give us this patch our daily Orc lore.
And forgive us our whining,
As we forgive them that forget Grom and Thrall.
And lead us not into temptation,
Into playing a different race.
For thine is the Warchief,
The power, honor, and glory,
For all eternity.
Lok’tar.

So let me tell you the story of how Metzen ended up working at Blizzard.

He was the singer in a band. He did a set at a bar in Cali when he was 19, then left stage and started drawing a dragon on a napkin

some dude saw the drawing and said “hey that’s pretty good wanna work at a video game company”

and metzen was like “idk what a video game is but okay”

so he showed up with just a portfolio of shit, like, DnD campaigns her ran, drawings he did for them, just this big disorganized pile and saw the office was full of comic book posters etc and was totally smitten. When they asked if he wanted to work there he said “dude I’ll sweep your floors.” They gave him a position as an artist.

Then during warcraft 1, he wrote basically a Warcraft fanfiction on his computer and someone at the office found it and made him the writer/designer on warcraft 2

I talk shit about Metzen but he’s honestly a crazy-nice guy with a lot of earnest enthusiasm even after being at the company for forever. I have a crazy amount of envy for how he just fell into what I imagine is a ton of people’s dream job.

I’m also fairly certain he sings some of the tracks on the Starcraft 2 soundtrack.

If i ever get married, i want Chris Metzen singing Sweet Home Alabama at my wedding.
