Every artist feels like their art is never good enough, and every artist has another artist they always look up to, admire, and aspire to reach the greatness of some day (I have this feeling with many artists YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE). It’s difficult to not feel discouraged when comparing your art to others because it feels like you’ll never be as good as them, but the goal of art is not to be “as good” as the other artist, it’s to be as good as you can be.

It takes a while to find your art style, much like it takes a while to find a clothing style as well. Sometimes we adopt the more popular styles, other times we go far out, sometimes we get in the middle, or get stuck in between styles for a long time. Draw often, don’t worry about “making it look good”, and eventually you’ll see repeating patterns in your art that will evolve into your style. Remember, your style doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to be yours.

Good luck with your art, and enjoy it!
