Click here to support Help Me With Unexpected Car Trouble by Jessica Arnold
My name is Jessica Arnold. I work with elderly people with dementia. I love my job, it’s something that’s extremely rewarding to do, but I live paycheck to paycheck. Unfortunately, when bad things happen, I have no way to save myself. My car just died. It started smoking on the way home and I’m looking at at least $1500 in work just to get it running again, or at worst, having to buy another car. Because I have almost $50,000 in student loans that are past due, I have to pay cash for a new car. I can’t afford either option at the moment, I can hardly pay for my own food, much less find that kind of money. I really need help, or I’m going to lose my dream, lose my apartment, my job, lose my patients who I’ve grown to love as much as family. Please, please help.
I don’t ask for much. I try really, really hard to do what I can for myself. But this could destroy everything. I need either a new engine or a new car. Both are far too expensive for me to afford, and are far too expensive for my family to help me with. If I can’t get transportation soon, I’m going to have to give up my job, and perhaps with it, my apartment and I’ll have to go back to live with my parents in a situation that became far too emotionally shattering for me to continue with LAST year.
I know a lot of you are in the same boat I am, strapped for cash, but Tumblr is huge and I ask that you guys please, please reblog and maybe other people can help.
I’m in an economic situation right now where I’m barely able to afford food. I have to get cash advances to pay for bills. It’s…really it’s not good even with the car working. With it broken and as bad as it is, I don’t know what I’m going to do or who I can turn to.
