I think I’m getting the same result from rubbing my finger across the Sculpey without water as I get with ;~~;
Try using various amounts of water on a scrap piece to figure out where you need it without ruining what you’re working on. When getting the prints out you need to apply pressure but still be really gentle. If all else fails you can go at it with a super fine nail file after curing it.
It’s not working. I’ve tried using only a drop, I’ve tried dumping half the cup of water on it, and everything in between. They repel water.

I typically use lighter fluid to smooth it out which works pretty well.
