No, actually; a while ago I realized the stupidest thing i could do was NOT give money directly to the places I like, because that’s LITERALLY how we got facebook, google, and twitter.
They figured out that people wouldn’t give them money to run the website so they got advertisers to give them money to run the website, and then they made sure that the website worked in a way that advertisers KEPT giving them money.
Now, this is predicated on the fact that I can give them money because I have extra money.
But if I won’t, who will?
