Not to… hijack your post, but elven eyes should in fact, absolutely do this.

In nocturnal animals, who have a far superior night vision than humans, there is a layer in the eye called tapetum lucidum that reflects light back into the retina that both helps the eye take in more light, and causes that glow-like reflection. So elves, who have darkvision, should do this too. Actually, theoretically, any fantasy race that has superior night vision should do this to some degree. 

I love that you’ve drawn this, it’s a great concept.
