I realized it’s “almost” time for this. Yeah, I guess I could have waited for a few weeks… or even a month… but whatever. Summary of 2014 in art.

I don’t know if I chose the right pictures for this. I wanted to include more pictures, so maybe next year I’m gonna do like “3 pieces for month” thing, I remember running into this problem last year too….

Man, looking back on my art always makes me kind of depressed, in a way. I feel like I’m not growing as an artist fast enough. I can’t believe how “old” some of the pieces featured here are, I could swear I finished some of them like… two weeks ago… definitely not 5+ months ago. Scary. Almost as scary as not hating all of my almost year-old art [ok I really dislike the Jan piece, but I included it to go with the Oct piece, because, hey, same character.]

This year I worked a LOT on full-body pieces, and I think I finally got over my fear of drawing full-body artwork, as opposed to busts or waist ups. I’m still not as fast with them as I’d like to, and I really need to push myself to work on more interesting and dynamic poses and angles, but I suppose this could be a first the… or something.

Is it just me or have my colors become brighter as the year progressed? Even considering some of the pieces are intentionally a bit muted?
