no seriously though i think about this when i take images of the computers I get because software is hard to obtain from even 30 years ago, and these computers would have it, so i don’t want to erase the data outright.

Important though: this is personal data so I and I don’t want to dig through someone else’s data. Its not grave robbing since I’ve bought this outright, but.

AND to complicate it further I’d like these sort of snapshots, along with whatever is left in the archives I’m making, and will donate when I pass, available to archeologists in the future, but technology means that we’ve reached the level of active maintenance.
