if anyone else has been experiencing eye strain while playing WoW after the new patch, the console command to disable the full screen glow effect is working again, however you have to set it every time you log-in or reload
this removes that harsh flash-bulb glare over areas with strong lighting or contrast and I find it looks much better with it turned off (and easier on my eyes)
just toss this into a macro and hit it every time you enter the game, hopefully they’ll eventually make it a more permanent option like it used to be before
