Wow, that’s exactly the reason I figured Varian pushed more for the warrior thing, and less of the paladin thing. 

I bet Varian is also mysteriously absent when paladins are inducted at the Stormwind Cathedral.

I now have this idea that because of being magically smacked around by Onyxia twice and also being the Scion of Lo’Gosh, Varian is incredibly magic resistant. Like you hit him with some sort of  arcane spell and now everyone has to duck because OHGODITSBOUNCINGAROUNDTHEROOM.
