Have you guys considered how dragons would theoretically be able to use their fire to control burns and regulate vegetation growth. In turn, creating more soil litter? They would definitely be good wardens of the forest.
They would also able to use their fire to intentionally create updraft through rising hot air, which definitely solves the “too big to fly” problem.
There’s definitely more to dragon ecology that “burning things to death”
