I understand the sentiment but Iâm not embarrassed to promote myself and my work. Art is my passion but itâs also my job. I had tumblr years ago with 750k organic followers but I deleted it cuz I was getting death threats. When I signed up again yesterday I paid to have a post promoted. Art is my career, why shouldnât I promote myself? And guess what? It worked. This post is doing well and I got a nice little boost of followers. đ„°
Do…. people not understand that Corporations stealing our data to advertise their product and an independent artist investing a few dollars to promote their work and gain an audience are… two entirely different things????
the only thing anyone really needs to know if they’re new to tumblr is that no matter who you are, on this website you are Just Some Guy. remember this. if you don’t, the rest of us will not hesitate to remind you.
there is no “winning” or “networking” or “influencing” on tumblr, and if you attempt to introduce these things you will be kung pow penised to keep rent prices low
watermark made for artists who are absolutely exasperated with the rampart disrespect by everything from nfts to deviantart. get your png, csp or psd here and feel free to change it around any way to suit you.Â
and remember, never share high resolution art, watermark everything, hell, put it in a tile pattern over your stuff because everyone seems to think its fine and in fact encouraged to nab stuff from visual artists.
Related: If youâre an artist drawing art for a commission PLEASE include the watermarked version with the finals! Sometimes I wont get that but itâs SUPER handy when I show it off or use it in a post later!Â
