Well the purpose of this art seems to be portraying the princesses as different races than their original ones. If you don’t like the artist changing her race, why aren’t you complaining about the others?

The others are white princesses. They took a princess who is one of the FEW significant characters of colour and changed her race and gave her paler skin.HOW IS THIS NOT FUCKED UP TO YOU

Look at her dress. Look at the ornaments in her hair. This is based off of screen manips of another artist that race bent the Disney princesses. And she’s very clearly Asian in that rendition AND this one.

This is why I hate the term PoC/the whole perception of PoC because it really boils down to “Obviously white” and “obviously not-white because brown skin” with no ability to identify variation in between or besides.
This art is beautiful and a wonderful conceptual project.

TAKE A FUCKING WHITE PRINCESS AND MAKE HER CHINESEOh, no, I got the point. I understood your misplaced, unnecessary rage about racebending an African American character to another non-white culture. But they didn’t “lighten” Tiana’s skin. They presented her as a Chinese woman, and considering that the fasteners often seen on some Chinese dresses are called frog fasteners, it’s actually a very clever choice for a race bend. So I understood that artist’s choices more than your ignorant idiocy.
This artist’s exploration of this concept did not diminish Tiana’s significance as a black Disney princess. She was black in the movie. She’s black on all of the Disney merch. She is still black. Snarling in all caps over one artist’s explorations with presenting stories and characters as different, underrepresented races is not racism. The original artist of this concept also made Pocahantas Polynesian. Do you want to rage about that “““““racism”“““ too?
