In before anyone says, “But Bark, a 2000×3700 GIF doesn’t make any sense!”:

It’s literally poster sized.

this picture is 2000×3700 pixels and I have managed to fill every square inch of it with scribbles

i will be so proud of myself if I can actually finish this beast because I usually give up on things like this

At first I thought that picture of Hank Hill was 2000×3700.

I think the ‘remember their sacrifice’ joke was referencing the fact that the reason Doughnut Day is a thing was because doughnuts were delivered to soldiers going through hell to give them some relief. So the doughnuts were ‘sacrificed’ to help miserable soldiers feel a little better, yeah?

yeeeah I still wouldn’t parallel donuts and soldiers when it comes to sacrifices…  it was a bad tag and hopefully tumblr took it out of the rotation.

Yeaah, it’s a bit skeezy. I’ve not seen the line myself and I’ve been refreshing for the last ten minutes to find it, so hopefully it has been removed! ;v;

I can actually confirm its a thing:

I’m just assuming that someone didn’t realize today was D-Day (I honestly forgot myself, even after just reading about it last week.)

lobstmourne: hairandbrokenglasses: boornstick: officerstark: This one is where I draw the line.  Today is the 70th anniversary of D-Day. This is disgusting on Tumblr’s part, especially this joke.  “Allied casualties on the first day were at least 12,000, with 4,414

Yes,remember their sacrifice.  The thousands of soldiers who fought in the Normandy landings and lost their lives.  Remember that, not some ridiculous holiday about donuts.

IS THIS SERIOUSLY WHAT THE DONUT THING IS

IM FUCKING LIVID

are you fuckin kidding me rn

they took D-Day and made it Donut Day… Tumblr no

Not quite:

National Doughnut Day is on the first Friday of June each year, succeeding the Doughnut Day event created by The Salvation Army in 1938 to honor the men and women who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I.

It just so happens that the first friday in June is the 6th.
