Members of The Public sometimes say things like “How stupid to try to bring back wolves! They can harm you!” “We can’t bring back panthers, those are dangerous!”
There is no debate to be had. Attacks on humans by these animals are extraordinarily rare, but even if they weren’t, it would be our responsibility to minimize risk and keep ourselves safe while respecting the right of the animals to exist. These animals are very important to the health and well being of everything in the ecosystem and we do not have the right to forever impair the flourishing of life on the land to eliminate an already infinitesimally small risk. Wolves and panthers exist for a reason, and you don’t get to decide they shouldn’t exist, cause you’re not God.
Wolves aren’t evil because they eat cows. You also eat cows. That’s why we raise cows in the first place.
I cannot stress enough that this is NOT exaggeration they are calling for the complete abolition of trans people. And you may go “haha well. Thats just West Virginia” which first of all, fuck you for downplaying the struggle of trans people in a place just because you dont live there, and second of all its not just west virginia. This is the goal of all republican regimes across the country.
If you are not fighting against republicans with every fiber of your being at this point you are not a trans ally. If you tolerate the republicans in your family without challenging their ideas about trans people you are not a trans ally. Fight for us goddamnit or we will be culled and our blood will be on your fucking hands.

If this goes through, even if it has a lot of resistance it’ll be used as both the precedent and blueprint in every state they have power.
And if the “just give up and don’t vote left/at all” people get their way, it’ll become national law.
In a First Past The Post system, you have to vote for the lesser evil candidate or you get the most evil candidate. It’s that simple.

In a FPTP (First Past The Post) system? You don’t vote for the guy you like. You vote for the candidate that is *viable* (actually able to get elected, so they can get things done) and then closest to the policies you like. And you do this *every time.*

my identity as the guy who points out generative images because i believe in people having the skill to discern them to both protect themselves and artists is constantly at odds with the part of me that doesn’t want to be an annoying killjoy on things like funny memes but i think just for the sake of people who try to avoid it altogether: those pixelated-looking wizards are generative AI, as are like, 90% of all the classically-styled wizard images suddenly appearing on social media (like, if you see a wizard with impact font, it’s… probably AI)
the pixelated style in these memes, i think, throws a lot of people off because it obscures a lot of the crunchy details and isn’t typical of usual generative styles, but it still has the hallmarks of details that can’t be explained, nonsense architecture, and objects fusing together (nevermind the weird hands).
i’m just going to keep pointing these things out even if it makes me Not Fun. I just want people to understand where the things they share originate.
Guns are hard enough that you can normally FIND the real gun a fictional gun is based off of. (No shade, even Tevruden has this)
And the geometry on these is just bad as AI trying to do a tile floor.
