everyone says werewolf cowboys and vampire pirates but I assert the other way around.
Ive already put my reasoning in the replies but let me explain fully.
A vampirate would need to be out of the sun for anywhere from ¾ to ½ of the day. Many pirates sleep in hammocks on deck. That also leaves them very vulnerable to attack, which is not very good for a pirate. Meanwhile, werewolf pirates would only have to lock themselves in the brig for one night once a month.
Vampire outlaws could stalk the plains at night, banditing any loansome midnight travelers. Pack their coffins in trains during the day only to break out at night and rob the entire line. Stay in dim-lit saloons during the day if they wish to stay up.
