Fremont St, Las Vegas, July 1949.
An article in Review-Journal, 7/26/49, described YESCO’s difficulty in completing the Las Vegas Club sign, seen at the end of the street in this photo. The sign was the largest of it’s kind at the time, powered by its own power plant (“larger than some which generate electricity for entire communities”) and a requiring a newly designed hoist large enough to reach the top of the sign.
