Roteye’s undead dire wolf doodles~
I’ve mentioned once that he uses undead animals instead of ghouls, and the most common ones are a pack of dire wolves he obtained over the years. Some of them were killed by him, some of them he found, and he can summon them by using a simple ritual and their rune-engraved bones that he keeps with him at all times.
The pack obeys his commands, and while they aren’t as intelligent as some ghouls, they can perform an array of tasks, from killing things to saving people, tracking someone down, carrying stuff, etc. Should the death knight lose control of them, the wolves can become quite violent and chaotic, and will attack anything near them. They seem to have some shreds of their former personalities left, and do operate as a pack, more or less, communicating in a bizarre way, and typically follow their “leader” of sorts, the white one. The wolves don’t really have names – at least they didn’t, until Cel decided to name them.
Roteye doesn’t use them often, as they drain his energy resources quite a bit, and the longer they stay active, the weaker he becomes, and the more difficult it can be to control them, if he uses the whole pack. When he doesn’t need them anymore, he just reverses the “spell” and they decay back into nothing, leaving only their “vessel” bones behind. As long as these bones are intact, the knight can summon them again and again and they are bound to him.
