Anon before you is a total dumb-truck. If Blizzard was trying to be faithful to the culture that created elves because they never saw black people before, why in the world would they make purple/red/blue/green elves with glowing tattoos? Vaguely certain the vikings weren’t sporting periwinkle flesh.

I want to do things like this. It’s nice, I think, and neat, and I can do it in one sitting and it’s actually FUN for me. I’m just so worried no one will want to pay money for pencil sketches from me. I don’t even know what I would price it. I just want to do something productive, make some money, have fun drawing again, get more practice in, get better at drawing daily, everything. But I’m so afraid it’s not enough.

Not trying to bud in on the argument. But the reason why Blood/high elves are white as a ghost is because lore wise(not blizzard lore) elves were from countries where darker skin was basically never seen, Elves are children of nature(cont)

Blizzard is a very serious company with very serious lore that includes very serious subject matter like a military General braving the treacherous hills of Nagrand, crawling with hostile lion-men, to retrieve a young Goblin’s spank material.

I’m literally just saying Elves are pretty much stuck with fair skin, tan and semi-orange much like how Night Elves are stuck with purple, pink and blue, trolls with blue, purple, green and black, Orcs with green and yellow and Mag’har Orcs with Brown.
Humans, Dwarves and Gnomes are pretty much, the only races that have diverse skin tones. I guess I become Orthmar Garithos because I said Blood Elves have a slim chance of actually having dark skin tones.
(Pandaren, Tauren and Worgen don’t count since.. Well. That’s fur, not skin.)

All we need now is a bunch of white saviours to draw beautiful “exotic“ elves of colour (or just get a lot of publicity and never do anything with it) and fetishize them and make sure to remind everyone how much better they are than white people. Blizzard isn’t wrong for making their skin with lighter tones, they’re simply sticking to cultural lore for elves.

because if certain lore doesn’t make sense from a logical standpoint, they most likely will not do it. No ones telling anyone their headcanon’s are irrelevant, but it’s probably going to remain just that, a headcanon.
