i commend the effort of ppl trying to argue lore and such with the white elf fixated portion of wowblr but the thing is

having a dark skinned elf requires no justification; not from lore, not from any real world analogy, not from anything

12/13 races have dark skin options, it wont kill you to have one who doesnt. It makes them unique.

BREAKING NEWS: One dark skin option for blood elves will ruin the uniqueness of blood elves, guys.
