If healers have it bad, so do tanks. Tanks and Heals, poor buggers.
I’ve borne witness to ALL of these and more, and it all drives me UP THE WALL.
ALL OF THEM. ARGH.
- People who don’t watch their fucking threat.
- People who pull mobs for you then get OMIGOSH surprised when they DIE TO THE MOB – what did they expect? flowers and a fucking massage!?
- IDIOTS WHO DON’T UNDERSTAND CLEAVE MECHANICS/Healers who stand in melee (WHAT THE FUCK GUYS)/HITBOX MECHANICS.
- Tanks that go AFK as soon as you pull (aka offtanks, leaving you to manfully shoulder the burden alone – which causes massive HP drops, which causes healers to cry.)
- Anyone with a minion who pulls other mobs. DISMISS YOUR MINION BEFORE YOU JUMP OFF SOMETHING, YOU STUPID LITTLE SHITSTAIN.
- Just tanking in general. ARGH HEADACHE. No wonder I turned to drinking when raiding…
My life.🎻 why do people equate whining with being good.
I don’t think I’ve seen a tank have a problem with threat generation since…
I mean I only started raiding in Wrath and it was never an issue.
Threat generation stopped mattering the same time Omen did.
I would be shocked if I could pull threat off of someone at this point. There would have to be a serious gear disparity between us.
I agree, since Wrath the threat generation has improved dramatically, but this isn’t a specifically ‘after a certain point’ list as I drew some of my frustrations from when I was raiding in vanilla and BC, and back then you had to keep an eye on what you were doing. Of course that was also when Paladins had to use spell enchants to boost their threat gen. Since Wrath I’ve only tanked on a DK (Goodbye Captain America wannabes!) and the threat gen difference is massive (and welcome) if coming with the whole ‘Which spec is a tank spec’ of WotLK (I tanked as unholy for a while, that was fun before it became Frost) and then it all took a sudden uturn towards Blood which is where we are currently.
That said I did see my friend with a fantastic bug when she was doing WoD, she wasn’t generating threat (I was generating more than she was as a Warlock and lemme tell you, that made me VERY nervous!) and it didn’t get fixed until WoW was down and hotfixed on the third or fourth day of it going down faster than a bad joke at a comedy club.
The gear disparity was that large at the end of the last expac; the minimum item level to do SoO LFR was 496, and people in Heroic Warforged gear could reach 588. The item level difference there is larger than everything in Wrath between Normal Halls of Lightning and Icecrown Citadel 25H.
This expac isn’t looking too much better. Now there’s 50 item levels between LFR Highmaul and Mythic Blackrock Foundry.
