That’s going to come in handy when blizzard wipes my raid lockout AGAIN

I wonder if the encounter still has to be cleared to trigger Arthas. Hopefully they already thought of that…

Fun fact: That encounter has never been required to fight Arthas. Engineers have been able to goblin glide around it for some time now.

Report from the Frontlines: Undercity, Eastern Kingdoms, Western Northrend. The report from Undercity, not surprisingly enough, forshadows the eventual incident at the Wrathgate. It also sets the timeline as being after the end of BC and possibly after the Scourge invasion event.

*language nerds into your askbox like* that’s not really the correct usage of decimate. while in modern usage it’s accepted as meaning something like ‘to devastate’ the historical usage is actually from the ancient Roman army when they would punish mutinous legions by killing one in ten men. since a professor who was teaching or versed in classical languages would *know* this (or should at least) i am also calling false on that quoted polyamory post going around *nerds away into the night*

Yeah see, that was my problem. I normally wouldn’t mind that usage, but this is a professor complaining about modern usage of words and then misusing a word with a roman origin in the middle of it.

On the other hand I’ve done dumber things, and it’s funny.

a discussion on sexual orientation

me: *explaining various sexual orientations to a classmate*
classmate: wait, what’s polyamory?
me: well, it’s when someone has more than one intimate relationship at a time with the knowledge and consent of everyone involved.
professor: *overhears from front of class*
professor: that is d i s g u s t i n g
me: *defensively* um, actually, no it’s–
professor: how DARE they put a greek prefix on a latin root like that?! What right do they have to decimate my beautiful antiquated languages?!?! GREEK AND LATIN DO NOT FRATERNIZE THIS IS LIKE THAT STUPID ROMANTIC SUBPLOT BETWEEN THAT DWARF AND THAT ELF IN THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!
me: ….

professor: it should be polyerosy
