pain that we never see weather or pain that when there’s finally weather we want it to be sunny again
THERE WAS NO WEATHER. THERE ARE NO SEASONS.
California has three seasons: hot temperatures and brown plants, mild temperatures with crumbling brown plants, and fire.
There used to be a season where the plants were briefly green, but that was in the before time. The long, long ago.
When actual weather happens, Californians get afraid. They can’t drive in a slight drizzle. Chaos reigns. “We need this!” they whimper from beneath their tables, because if tables can protect you from an earthquake, they can protect you from anything.
If you don’t want any seasons, move to Florida. There’s air conditioner season, and “just kidding, you’re going to need the air conditioner” season. In the 7 years I lived there there was not a single month where I didn’t turn on the AC at least once.
